E&I Designer I (HGA-R)
Company:Hunt, Guillot & Associates, LLC
Position Summary & Duties:

E&I Designer Responsibilities: 

  • Acts under the supervision of Lead Engineers and Sr. Designers in a supporting role
  • E&I Designer applies engineering principles and procedures in performing engineering design work
  • Applies design guidelines provided by Engineers and Sr. Designers to prepare detailed drawings deliverables 
  • Preparation of detailed drawings utilizing company drafting standards and techniques
  • Perform design calculations and analysis
  • Create Electrical/Instrument Specifications and/or Datasheets under supervision of Lead Engineers
  • E&I Designer assumes responsibility for technical accuracy and constructability of finished designs
  • Knowledge of industry standards for engineering design principles and practices such as NEC, ISA, PIP and other applicable ANSI standards is a plus
  • Must be able to effectively interface with client and engineers/designers from multiple locations


E&I Designer Experience Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering Technology degree from an accredited University
  • Prior Electrical/Instrumentation Designer experience required 
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 2014 or newer revision
  • Medium voltage experience required
  • Knowledge of Lighting Design software, Motor Control Center Design software, and Heat Trace software is a plus
  • Experience with MS Windows, MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word
