Position Summary & Duties:

The Day Production Supervisor position is a direct hire position with one of our specialty chemical clients in the Westlake, LA area.  Please note this position is located in Westlake, LA, and candidates will need to be willing to relocate to the Lake Charles area.

Day Production Supervisor Primary Responsibilities:

•Supervise production operation to ensure scheduled workflow and the use of personnel, and the production objectives are met.

•Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising activities of production to achieve production rates that meet or exceed standards including communicating daily with Operations and Maintenance on job priorities. 

•Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget request and financial estimates

•Production Supervisor ensures the identification of product quality problems and implementation of corrective actions and participates with improving operating efficiency, reducing costs, training as needed, and taking timely corrective actions.

•Production Supervisor initiates work notifications in SAP, participates in Management of Change (MOC) and incident investigations as required.

•Ensures records and accurate production reports and counts, machine speeds, line down time and other data called out in SOPs.

•Production Supervisor supervises all aspects of personnel performance, staffing, training and discipline within the department.  Ensures that duties, responsibilities, authority, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.

•Provides reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approves changes in direction of plans.

•Capable of managing operations of a 24 hour/ 7 days, two 12 hour shift production facility

•Production Supervisor keeps production standards up to date; tracks efficiency and rework; communicates this information to line teams.

•Ensures that proper levels of Health & Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, housekeeping, and quality are maintained at all times.



Day Production Supervisor Job Requirements:

•Local Production Supervisor candidates are preferred.

•Engineering Degree in Technical, Chemical or Mechanical with 5 years of chemical manufacturing experience as a Production Supervisor is mandatory.

•3-5 years’ Production Supervisor experience managing more than 15 full-time employees, with robust skills in communications and mentoring subordinates to influence change is required.

•Production Supervisor should demonstrate leadership ability to affect change, consistently drive results, and influence all levels of the organization.

•The ability to react with urgency to achieve objectives and deadlines despite obstacles and time pressures.

•Safety Driven Individual

•Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.

•Accomplished in driving production schedules, and improving production efficiency

•Production Supervisor should be skilled in Lean Manufacturing, team building, quality control and assurance.

•Proficient with computer; SAP, MS Office, etc.
