Position Summary & Duties:

The Crude Oil Supply Manager is a direct-hire position working for one of our oil & gas clients located in Ohio.  The position will be located near Canton, OH but will require some travel to other locations.   

The Crude Oil Supply Manager is responsible for managing existing crude supplier accounts and procuring new crude supply accounts to execute the client’s strategy to secure long-term crude supply for its refinery located in Bradford, PA. This position will report to the Vice President, Crude Supply & Logistics.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a demonstrated ability to manage numerous existing and prospective suppliers. Ability to work independently is essential. Must possess a positive and aggressive attitude toward increasing crude supply and building positive business relationships. Must be flexible in job assignments demonstrating ability to multi-task. Overnight travel within and outside assigned area required.

Crude Oil Supply Manager Responsibilities:

  • Crude Oil Supply Manager aggressively generates and procures new supply opportunities to secure paraffinic light sweet refinery feedstocks to meet Company’s short and long-term crude supply requirements.
  • Builds and cultivates positive relationships with existing and prospective crude suppliers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Crude Oil Supply Manager develops strategic partnerships to secure long-term crude supply and refinery feedstocks to maximize profitability.
  • Understands the crude oil and liquids markets, pricing benchmarks, and land/marine logistics to secure and transport feedstocks to refinery.
  • Crude Oil Supply Manager provides crude oil marketing and recommendations to Senior Management.
  • Must be capable to successfully negotiate supply and logistics contracts.
  • Crude Oil Supply Manager works collaboratively with cross functional team to ensure prospective crudes meet Company’s quality standards and operational crude profile; possesses excellent working knowledge of crude blending and mixing to deliver acceptable crude blends as potential feedstocks.
  • Crude Oil Supply Manager provides professional and timely customer service to suppliers and business partners ensuring appropriate level of direct communication and in person meetings to maintain and grow business.
  • Participates and actively engaged in various industry organizations, conferences, and events to promote company, grow partner network, and expand business development opportunities.
  • Manages expenses within approved budget.
  • Crude Oil Supply Manager monitors incoming crude to ensure crude quality meets company processing standards.  Interfaces with appropriate departments on quality issues and corrective actions. 
  • Sets up new crude supplier division orders, payment terms and supply and transportation contracts.  Interfaces with Crude Disbursement department to ensure timely and accurate crude payments to suppliers. 
  • Crude Oil Supply Manager monitors and prepares various reports pertaining to crude receipts, suppliers, forecasts, quality, inventory, crude exchanges and other crude purchasing information as requested.  
Qualifications:

Crude Oil Supply Manager Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s degree in a business or science discipline from an accredited four-year college or university preferred. 

·      Minimum of five years’ combined experience in the following areas: crude oil supply/marketing/trading, procurement, logistics, and supply chain

·      Prior supervisory experience preferred.

·      Proficient in generating new business opportunities.

·      Strong negotiation and procurement skills.

·      Ability to analyze problems and provide effective resolutions.

·      Excellent computer competency specifically with Microsoft Office Suite. 

·      Attention to accuracy and detail.

·      Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with all internal external partners.

·      Expertise in establishing, growing and maintaining strong relationships based on trust, transparency and open communication

·      Must possess valid motor vehicle driver’s license.
