Project Manager (HGAS)

Position Summary & Duties:
The Project Manager position is a long-term contract position working for a specialty chemical client in the Luling, LA area. The project is expected to last at least 1-year, possibly longer.  The position will generally work 50 hours/week.

The ideal Project Manager candidate would have extensive experience in PE/PM, and degreed in Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in construction, manufacturing, and engineering design. Project Manager candidate will need a wide range of experience/ background in project work and especially with PE/PM leadership with proven results. Working on major projects on “owner’s team” on EPCM project, in a similar PE/PM role is also preferred. The successful Project Manager candidate will be part of the Owner’s Team Leadership and Project Management Leadership Team and have key responsibilities. The Project Manager role has responsibility for Technical Services located at the construction site and will have primary responsibility as the technical interface between the construction engineering teams of Owner, EPCM, and owner’s manufacturing plant. The Project Manager will plan and facilitate required meetings, initiate necessary and pertinent communications regarding, but not limited to RFI management, checkout coordination, quality assurance, document control, and issues resolution between EPCM and Owner’s technical team.

Project Manager Requirements
•15 yrs. experience as project engineer/project manager - with emphasis in project engineering/management, engineering design.
• Project Manager candidates with a mechanical engineer degree are preferred.
• proven experience on large projects with a background in industrial manufacturing, plant design (preference on large projects especially over $200-500M+).
• preference is experience working in specialty or industrial chemical plant design. But oil/gas industry experience acceptable.
• experience working with a wide range of industrial process equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, distillation columns, filters, agitators, centrifugal pumps, blowers, centrifuges, bulk material handling and dust collection systems.
• working with a broad range of materials of construction, including non-standard materials such as Duplex SS, Nickel Alloys, reactive metals, fiberglass and/or glass lined equipment.
• the following experiences are a plus: change and cost control management; field construction and quality control; field checkout commissioning activities; prior work experience with A/E or EPCM, and/or chemical manufacturing; proven problem solvers/execution who have dealt with high-level issues a plus.
• Project Manager candidates requiring per diem will be considered for highly qualified candidates outside of the area.
