Electrical Engineer (HGAS)

Position Summary & Duties:

The Electrical Engineer position is a direct-hire position working for a client at a mill in the Orange, TX area.  

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Electrical Engineer reviews the analysis and design activities in completing complex engineering design projects from general drawings and instructions.
  • Coordinates with other engineers, designers, and drafters in the production of construction drawing packages providing detailed electrical designs for single line diagrams, power plans, power studies, lighting plans, grounding, junction box layouts and wiring diagrams, conduit and cable schedules, panel schedules, and installation details using company standards and drafting techniques.
  • Electrical Engineer assumes responsibility for technical accuracy and constructability of finished designs.
  • Serves as lead project engineer on projects.
  • Electrical Engineer performs thorough checking of electrical design packages.
  • Electrical Engineer completes small to medium capital projects including MCC layouts, motor elementary diagrams, single lines, and VFDs.  

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a Bachelors degree from an accredited university/college in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must have 15+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, preferably with pulp and paper experience.
  • Professional Engineering registration and experience with AutoCad are preferred.
  • Electrical Engineer should have “hands on” experience working in an industrial environment with a team of engineers and designers, working on-site maintenance, small to medium size capital projects, and have a strong knowledge of power distribution. 
  • Must have the ability to do MCC layouts (480V & MV), motor elementary diagrams, single lines, VFDs, and be familiar with SKM and NEC. 
  • Electrical Engineer should possess strong experience with electrical power distribution systems, transformers, MCCs and ERs, and arc flash.
  • Electrical Engineer should possess a high degree of capability in engineering management, communications, client relationship, and team management.
  • Ability to react promptly and efficiently to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
