Field Inspector - Disaster Relief (HGAS)

Position Summary & Duties:

Position Summary:

Field Inspectors conduct site inspections of homes to assess damage resulting from Hurricane Harvey. The Inspector is a defined project employee position that is expected to begin in the near future and last 2-3 years. Inspectors are responsible for documenting the damages to housing stock and to create reports that will be used to help administer federal grant funding.

Field Inspector Duties:

  • Make contact with the homeowner/contractor
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments
  • Physical inspection of the property, loss, and/or damages
  • Observe and document the overall damage to site conditions, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing work
  • Create damage/loss report and complete cost estimates using industry recognized software

Qualifications:

Field Inspector Desired Qualifications:

  • Xactimate proficiency and experience
  • Prior disaster recovery experience. Inspectors with both construction experience and adjusting experience will also be considered.
  • High school diploma, and 1-5 years of relevant job experience required.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. 
  • Proficiency in using modern equipment including mobile phones, tablets, scanners, printers, computers, GPS or other hand-held devices.  
  • Position requires moderate physical activity (e.g., walking, stooping, climbing)
