Facilities Manager - Building Envelope and Roof Engineering (HGAS)

Position Summary & Duties:

The Facilities Manager position is a direct-hire position working for a client in the Columbus, OH area.  The Facilities Manager will need to possess experience and specific knowledge to lead/manage the Building Envelope and Roof Engineering Department and assist with growing the business.

Facilities Manager candidates will be self-starters with experience or interest in Forensic Investigations, Condition Assessments, Building Surveys, Testing and Analysis along with design experience for building envelope and roof remediation.  Experience with Infrared surveys and nuclear moisture surveys is preferred but not required.

  • The Facilities Manager leads the process of condition assessment to aid clients in managing facility assets by examining the building envelope assembly from both inside and out
  • Manage attention to the details of a client’s facility and custom design, as proper design is critical when conducting remedial work
  • The Facilities Manager should possess experience in Forensic Investigations, Condition Assessments, Building Surveys, Testing and Analysis, Design experience for building envelope and roof remediation
  • Experience with infrared surveys and nuclear moisture surveys is preferred. Sales and marketing experience
  • Affiliation with Roof Consultants Institute, RRC and RRO accreditation; 
  • The Facilities Manager should have expertise in research and investigation of existing structures, strong background in forensic evaluation and exposure to intellectual property rights and patents  
  • Experience predicting and diagnosing deficiencies, including water intrusion, expert in codes, technical standards and specifications, background in corrosion mechanisms and prevention, expert in fenestration systems design
  • Will also be involved with design work, depending on the workload; approximately 50% of time will be billable.
  • Commercial Building business development will compose approximately 30% of daily activities. 
  • Day travel may be as high as 30%.

 

Qualifications:

Facilities Manager Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering required
  • 5+ years of management experience with Roof and Building Envelope management
  • 5-10 years of experience in this field
  • Ability to lead a team and work cross functionally with teams.
  • Affiliation with the Roof Consultants Institute, RRC and RRO accreditation is also a plus.
  • Sales or Marketing experience is a plus
  • Facilities Manager must have proven experience managing personnel
  • Ability to management, maintenance programming, and expert testimony
  • Facilities Manager must have the ability to define scope of work, prepare proposals and manage projects. Relates performance aspects and observes and reports on building envelope testing and construction to work with a team

Facilities Manager Knowledge:

  • Facilities Manager should possess strong knowledge of CAD, WUFI, Microsoft Office, THERM. 
  • Knowledge of in-depth design, manufacturing, installation of the primary building envelope materials
  • Facilities Manager should have knowledge of emerging technologies with building exteriors
  • Expert level knowledge and understanding of building sciences and their performance in the global marketplace
  • Facilities Manager should possess knowledge of information required for construction budgeting, math and geometry skills.  Architecture and Licensed Architecture a plus. Membership and registration with Roof Consultant Industry a plus
  • Skill in written and verbal communication
  • Client development and retention through skill and ability in growing the service market and being comfortable with regularly interacting with potential clients
