HGA Staffing is currently gathering resumes of experienced piping designers located in Tulsa who are interested in supporting a Tulsa-based client with their upcoming projects.  Our client has periodic needs for contract piping designers who are located in the Tulsa area (no per diem will be paid).

The main function of the Piping Designer is to assist Engineering and Operations in developing and maintaining accurate asset drawings.

Piping Designer Responsibilities:

• Piping Designer supports the Designer and will assist in the overall engineering design effort of Engineering Services projects, when necessary, by developing and/or compiling the required design and construction information from various sources including; site studies, vendor drawings, catalog data, engineering sketches, reference drawings and input from other disciplines.

• Performs facility as-built walk-downs to develop, update and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), Facility Plot Plans, Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Electrical One Line diagrams, Emergency Operating Procedure drawings, Cause and Effect Matrix and other drawings that may be required.

• Piping Designer provides technical support, designs, and drawings for complex engineering projects.

• Plans and conducts work requiring independent evaluation, also assumes responsibility for contribution to the success of a project.

• Piping Designer creates designs for pipeline and related facilities based on scope requirements provided by internal business partners. Prepares working plans and detail drawings and maps according to standards and specifications.

• Communicates with internal and external business partners to determine needs and satisfaction.

• Piping Designer reviews and verifies that plans, designs, drawings, and maps conform to applicable codes, standards, specifications and the requirements of internal business partners.

• Develops and maintains facility drawings for Plants, Stations, and above ground appurtenances in support Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Tactical, and as necessary Engineering & Construction (E&C) projects ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

• Piping Designer ensures accurate, timely, and efficient design and delivery of drawings from conception to as-built state and continued maintenance and updates afterwards. These drawings and documents include Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), Facility Plot Plans, Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Electrical One Line diagrams, Schematics, Emergency Operating Procedure drawings, Cause and Effect Matrixes, Relief System Design data, and other drawings that may be required

• Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), Facility Plot Plans, Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Electrical One Line diagrams, Emergency Operating Procedure drawings, Cause and Effect Matrix and other drawings that may be required.

 

 

Qualifications:
Piping Designer Education/Experience:

• Must be located in the Tulsa, OK area.

• 6+ years of CADWorx piping design experience in the oil and gas industry required.

• Knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D a plus. 

• Extensive experience of P&IDs required.

• Compressor station design experience preferred.

• New facilities construction design experience preferred.

• Associate of Applied Science degree in Design and Drafting Technology, or equivalent experience work experience.

• Broad level of knowledge concerning industry codes, standards and practices such as ASME, API, ANSI, DOT, ISA, NEC, ACCI, AISC, UBC, ASCE, NFPA, AWS, NACE, IBC, etc.
