Position Summary & Duties:

The Instrumentation Analyzer is a direct-hire position of one of our specialty chemical clients in the Westlake, LA area.

Instrumentation Analyzer Job Description:

•            Pre-commissioning and commission of all types of Gas & Liquid analyzers and Process Gas Chromatograph.

•            Pre-commissioning activities such as Installation of analyzers, laying of SS / Heat Trace tubes, installation of sample probes, flushing and pressure testing of sample tubes and sample conditioning system.

•            Commissioning activities not limited to Calibrations and validation of analyzers and GC. Functional testing etc.

•            Communication of all GC and Analyzers with central computer and managing the data. Establishing the communication with DCS.

•            Maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, calibration and repair works on site or in repair shop and minimize the downtime for all installed analyzers by the timely implementation of planned maintenance procedures.

•            Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting for Process Gas Chromatographs.

•            The Instrumentation Analyzer tests, calibrates and reinstalls repaired analyzers, ensuring accuracy of operation and checks all test instrumentation against recognized standards.

•            Calibration of analyzers and maintains records on analyzer testing, calibration and installation.

•            Maintain the all process analyzers as used for safety and shutdown control, personnel monitoring, environmental monitoring, product quality and process efficiency.

•            The Instrumentation Analyzer maintains plant process analyzers in a good condition to enable precise measurements readings and efficient production operability with minimum maintenance interruption. Carries out repairs and preventative maintenance work on site or in workshop on a range of analyzers. Diagnose faults, carries out repairs on site and undertakes workshop testing, overhaul, repair and reconditioning.

•            Follow work permitting procedures to conduct field activities including area surveillance of analyzer shelters/cabinets, inspection of gases cylinders and samples handling systems.

•            Instrumentation Analyzer conducts calibration and troubleshooting of all analyzers and Gas chromatographs.

•            The Instrumentation Analyzer ensures the availability of the carrier gas, fuel gas and calibration gas cylinders



Instrumentation Analyzer Job Requirements:

- 5-6 years of previous Analyzer experience required

- Must possess process analyzer and gas chromatograph experience

- Mechanical and chemistry knowledge as well as mathematical theories and applications

- Instrumentation Analyzer possesses excellent knowledge and understanding of equipment / plant operation and maintenance

- Proficient skills of plant DCS system operation

- Instrumentation Analyzer demonstrates strong report writing and presentation skills

- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
