Board Operator - DCS (HGAS)

Position Summary & Duties:

The DCS Board Operator is a direct-hire position working for one of HGA's specialty chemical clients in the Sulphur, LA area.  


DCS Board Operator Duties & Responsibilities:

The Hot/Cold Console Board Operator will be able to do the following:

  • Monitor operating conditions and make process adjustments
  • Provide guidance to the field operators
  • Maintain operating logs of various items such as pressures and flow rates
  • Operate DCS
  • Ability to read and comprehend P & IDs, PFDs, and operational SOPs
  • Ability to troubleshoot unfavorable process conditions and make appropriate corrections

 

 

 

Qualifications:

DCS Board Operator Requirements:

• Applicants will be required to have at least a 2 year Associates Degree in Process Technology (or related field) 

• 5+ years of ethylene cracker DCS Hot/Cold Board Operator experience is mandatory.

• Understanding of plant specific operation mechanism & equipment start/stop console operation required.

• Advanced understanding of instruments and field operation including emergency shutdown system needed.

• Experience in Distributed Control Systems, Startups and emergency shutdown systems desired.

• Excellent understanding of plant layout and operating process required.

• High safety awareness level and implementing safety policy and hazard protection needed.

• Required to work shift work and overtime.  

• Candidates from the Lake Charles area are preferred.
